Man gets prison for assaulting US officers

— A Muskogee man was sentenced Tuesday to federal prison on an assault charge, according to a media release from the United States Attorney’s Office.

Zachary Ryan Rogers, 21, was sentenced to 24 months imprisonment, followed by 24 months of supervised release for assault on a federal officer.

Rogers was indicted in December and pleaded guilty in January.

The indictment alleged that on or about Nov. 6, Rogers assaulted a special deputy U.S. marshal and a deputy U.S. marshal, inflicting bodily injury.

Rogers remains in the custody pending transportation to the designated federal prison at which he will serve his nonparolable sentence.
