Cherokees to break ground on center

— The Cherokee Nation will break ground on its new, $4.3 million Jack Brown Center at 2 p.m. Friday at the Male Seminary Recreation Center campus, 1501 Graham Ave., in Tahlequah.

The center, which is being relocated from its current Sequoyah Schools campus to a new building on the Male Seminary Recreation campus, will increase from a 20-bed to a 36-bed services facility.

The center is expected to offer an open campus-style setting, a multipurpose recreation activities building and an equine therapy program. Completion is expected in early 2014.
