A Porum family and law enforcement officials are asking for help to find a teen who has been missing for several weeks.
Brenda Arnett-Jones said she last saw the teen, Dillon Jones, the morning of Nov. 15 as he boarded a school bus. Jones is a grandson of Arnett-Jones’.
The youth was wearing a gray and maroon hoodie, Levis and tennis shoes, was carrying a gray backpack and had a coat, Arnett-Jones said.
Jones,16, is described as 6-foot-1 and weighing 157 pounds. He has hazel eyes and brown hair.
Jones, who is in the 10th grade, did not get off the bus Friday afternoon, his grandmother said.
Jones was grounded for having a bad grade in school, but his punishment was only that he could not go out with friends to concerts or other events until his grades improved, Arnett-Jones said. He had access to his cell phone, video game and his paycheck.
A security camera at a grocery store in Warner recorded Jones cashing his paycheck there, she said. He was with another person in that store, and that person has been interviewed by authorities, Arnett-Jones said.
Arnett-Jones and her husband, Don, have been Jones’ legal guardians for three years. She said she has contacted several law enforcement agencies to help locate her grandson.
Coletta Peyton, who is in charge of the investigation for the Muskogee County Sheriff’s Office, said she conducted several interviews in the case Monday. “Nobody has heard from him or seen him since Nov. 15,” Peyton said.
Jones is very close to his siblings, and none has heard from him, Arnett-Jones said. Jones’ father, who lives in another town, also hasn’t heard from him.
Arnett-Jones said that the situation is “out of character” for her grandson.
“We just want to bring Dillon home,” she said.
