Doctors to operate on injured teen today

One of the teenagers injured in a three-vehicle crash in Fort Gibson is scheduled to undergo surgery today, his mother said.

Dalton Colley, 19, has a cervical spine injury, but his neck is not broken, which was previously reported, his mother Marcy Colley said.

The crash occurred about 2:40 p.m. Sunday on U.S. 62 at Willey Road. A Chevrolet S-10 pickup driven by Kyle Walton, 18, failed to yield to two eastbound vehicles. Dalton Colley and his brother Daylon Colley, 17, were Walton’s passengers.

Daylon Colley and Walton were treated and released.

Marcy Colley said she is thankful her sons survived.

“We all feel like we've been touched by an angel,” she said. “My boys are very blessed to be alive. I really feel like the hand of God came down, I really do. He has been with me every step of the way through this.”

Marcy Colley said she believes traffic signals should be added to the intersection where the crash occurred as well as the intersection near the Cherokee Casino.
