Power outage darkens downtown

OG&E crews work at a substation north of Honor Heights Park late Tuesday morning after power was knocked out through parts of downtown Muskogee. Michael B. Ruby, community affairs manager with OG&E, said 178 customers were without power. A section of underground wire between Arrowhead Mall and the downtown area had faulted and will need to be replaced, he said. Crews were able to bypass the wire and restore power Tuesday, he said. Power was lost about 11 a.m. and was restored by about 2 p.m.
