Coburn names chief of staff

— U.S. Sen. Tom Coburn announced on Thursday the appointment of Brian E. Treat as his new chief of staff.

Treat has worked with Coburn since 2005 as legislative assistant and later as senior policy adviser. Treat also worked with Coburn from 1998 to 2000 when the Muskogee Republican served in the House of Representatives.

“Brian is a gifted leader who has deep roots in Oklahoma and a deep commitment to the values and principles we all hold dear,” Coburn said in a media release.
