Bridge work detours traffic

— A worker smooths concrete on the side of an underpass being re-decked at Hancock Street and the Muskogee Turnpike. Northbound truck access from Oklahoma 165/Peak Boulevard is being detoured to U.S. 69 while work continues on the turnpike overpass at Hancock. Southbound access from Oklahoma 165/Peak Boulevard to the turnpike will be closed for 75 days. Northbound access already is closed and could be closed for another 75 days. The Oklahoma Turnpike Authority advises motorists looking to go southbound on the turnpike from Oklahoma 165/Peak Boulevard to detour to U.S. 69 or U.S. 64 to Okmulgee Avenue going east, which turns into Chandler Road, where they will be able to enter the turnpike’s southbound and northbound lanes. Motorists other than trucks also may use more convenient routes, including Country Club Road.
