BREAKING NEWS — Person of interest in Tahlequah slaying arrested

A person of interest in the slaying of a Northeastern State University professor and his companion have been arrested, according to Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation sources.

Joshua Schneider and his girlfriend, Heather Black, were arrested Saturday.

Authorities have been looking for Black and Schneider since they eluded police last week in Tulsa.

Schneider, 33, is wanted on two felony warrants out of Tulsa County. He also is wanted for questioning in the death of Tiffany Rene Maher, who was found slain May 31 in her Tahlequah home. Maher, 40, was an assistant chemistry professor at Northeastern State University.
