City man charged in child molestation

A Muskogee man was charged Tuesday with one count of felony molestation of a child, according to court documents.

Jose Juan Torres Sr., 43, is accused of sexually abusing a 6-year-old child at approximately 3 a.m. Sunday, according to a probable cause affidavit.

The alleged incident occurred at a home near Spaulding Park, according to the filing by Muskogee County District Attorney’s Office.

Torres will be back in court for a sounding docket at 10 a.m. Aug. 6, at which time a date will be set for a preliminary hearing.

Torres is being held in the Muskogee County/City Detention Facility with a bond set at $100,000.
