A Muskogee man was arrested Friday afternoon after allegedly leading police on a vehicle and foot pursuit.
Stephen Thomas, 31, was arrested after a Muskogee police officer initiated a traffic stop just before noon near Main Street and Broadway.
“He fled in the vehicle west on Broadway,” Lt. Bryan Stark said.
Thomas stopped the vehicle in the 3700 block of West Lindsey Street, where he lives, Stark said. Thomas got out of the vehicle and made it as far as 24th Street and Military Boulevard, where he was arrested, Stark said.
Thomas was arrested on complaints of driving under suspension, child endangerment and attempting to elude a police officer. Stark said Thomas sped from police with a 6-year-old child in the vehicle and then left the child in the vehicle during the foot chase.
Thomas is in the Muskogee County/City Detention Facility. His bond will be set during a court appearance Tuesday.
