Tahlequah man killed in collision

A Tahlequah man died in a two-vehicle crash in Wagoner County, according to an Oklahoma Highway Patrol report.

Brandon Bushong, 27, was pronounced dead at the scene, the report states.

Bushong was driving a 2013 Harley-Davidson motorcycle on County Road 700, approximately one mile south of County Road 312 at 7:22 p.m. Saturday when the collision happened. He was westbound and crossed the center line of the roadway and hit a 2005 Chevrolet van being driven eastbound by Melissa Schalliol, 60, of Wagoner.

Schalliol and her passenger, a 5-year-old girl, were transported to Wagoner Community Hospital, where they were treated and released. They were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash. Bushong was not wearing a helmet. The OHP report states Bushong’s ability as driver of the motorcycle was impaired because of drinking.
