Students’ gift covers vet with honor

CSC students quilt for Marine Corps veteran

Brenda Storm, left, Kenard Booker and Ashley McCellan assemble the “Quilt of Valor” that was presented to Jeff Sweeten on Tuesday at the 4th annual Student Support Services Banquet at Cowboy’s Bar-B-Q in Muskogee. Storm, Student Support Services staff and students assembled the quilt to show appreciation for Sweeten’s dedicated services to the country, according to a media release. Storm, a CSC student, planned, organized and taught the students the basics of quilting during the spring 2013 semester all while completing her degree. Student Support Services looks to make this a continuing tradition for students.

Jeff Sweeten, United States Marine Corps veteran, was the recipient of a “Quilt of Valor” from Connors State College’s Student Support Services and students.
