Man killed, woman hurt in pike crash

— A Eufaula man was killed and a woman was injured in a single-vehicle crash Sunday on the Will Rogers Turnpike, according to an Oklahoma Highway Patrol report.

Darren William Fournell, 25, was pronounced dead at the scene. Jennifer Renee Newman, 29, also of Eufaula, was treated at Craig General Hospital in Vinita and released, the OHP report states.

According to the report, the crash happened about 4:41 p.m. at mile marker 280.5, about 1 1/2 miles west of Big Cabin in Craig County. Fournell was driving a 2005 Pontiac Grand Am westbound when he lost control and struck a retaining wall. The vehicle rolled onto the passenger side, and its airbags deployed. Newman was wearing a seat belt, but Fournell was not, the report said.
