— A Cherokee County District Court judge on Friday morning upheld the temporary restraining order made on behalf of three Sequoyah High School football players, which clears them to play in tonight's game against Hilldale.
The order continues until the appeal of an Oklahoma Secondary Schools Activities Association, ruling which found eight players in violation of a rule which prohibits participation in summer camps that are not paid for by the students.
Friday's ruling also allows the remaining five players to take part in the game which will decide the District 3A-7 championshp. Both teams enter the contest unbeaten in district play.
The ruling does not apply to head coach Brent Scott, who was suspended as a result of the OSSAA action.
Sequoyah and Hilldale play at Hilldale at 7:30 p.m.
