Black Caucus to hold talk at MLK Center


— “A Conversation with the Caucus,” with Oklahoma Black Caucus members will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the Martin Luther King Community Center, 627 N. Third St.

The public is invited to attend to discuss state questions on November ballot related to affirmative action, the governor’s pardon and parole process and more.

Additionally, joint community initiatives will be discussed, including reduction of gang violence, education, health care, public safety and economic development.

There will be an in-depth presentation on State Question 759, which would eliminate government affirmative action programs in Oklahoma. Local panelists include Barney Taylor, Earl Garrison, Jerry Rains, Arthur Hulbert, the Rev. Marlon Coleman and Cedric Johnson.
