Man convicted of sex crimes sent for eval

— A Muskogee man on suspended sentence in April for multiple sex crimes against a juvenile was sent to Vinita for a competency evaluation Tuesday.

Shane Clive Boyd, 37, was sent by Muskogee County Special Judge Weldon Stout to Oklahoma Forensic Center for a psychological evaluation.

The Oklahoma Department of Corrections alleges Boyd violated seven orders of his probation.

Boyd’s defense attorney, Heather Hilfiger, requested the evaluation during a hearing to revoke four suspended sentences given in April.

He was charged with:

• Child sexual abuse.

• Lewd molestation.

• Lewd or indecent acts to a child under 16.

• Incest.

A plea deal gave him three 15-year sentences for the first three charges and a 10-year sentence for the fourth, all concurrent and suspended.

District Attorney Larry Moore said Boyd will remain at the forensic center until he is deemed competent.
