A.M. UPDATE: Pedestrian hit on Muskogee's west side

A Muskogee man is in critical condition after he was hit by a car Monday morning.

Bacel Calk, 49, was walking in the eastbound outside lane on the 5500 block of West Okmulgee Avenue at about 6:20 a.m., said Muskogee police.

Cpl. Michael Mahan said Calk was struck by a 2011 Toyota Corolla driven by Danny Parson, 47, of Muskogee. Parson was driving eastbound in the lane where Calk was walking.

“It looks like he was pushed up on the hood and struck the windshield,” Mahan said.

The car was damaged on its passenger side, he said.

Calk was taken to EASTAR Health System in critical condition and was later flown to another hospital, Mahan said.

Parson was not cited.
