Two charged in area robbery

Two people are charged in the robbery of a Caney Ridge store in September.

James G. Kelley, 23, and Melanie K. Davis, 32, are each charged with first-degree robbery.

Prosecutors allege Kelley held a store employee at gunpoint and stole more than $768. Davis allegedly acted as a getaway driver.

The two were jailed in September after Cherokee County Sheriff’s investigators responded to the store. An employee said a man robbed the store around 6:30 a.m. Sept. 18.
