Pair admit drug offenses

— Two Tahlequah men pleaded guilty to drug-related charges Wednesday in federal court, according to a media release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

Ernest Dry III, 39, pleaded guilty to charges of possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime and prohibited person in possession of explosives. The firearm charge is punishable by five years and prison to be served consecutive to any other punishment, and/or up to a $250,000 fine. The explosives charge is punishable by not more than 10 years in prison, and/or a fine of up to $250,000.

Ralph Gene Carloss, 61, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to possess pseudoephedrine. The crime is punishable by not more than 20 years in prison and/or up to a $250,000 fine.

The indictment alleged that beginning in or about May 27, 2011, and continuing until in or about Aug. 31, 2012, Carloss possessed pseudoephedrine with the purpose of manufacturing a controlled substance.

It also alleged that Dry possessed a Mossberg, Model 500A, 12-gauge shotgun in furtherance of drug trafficking.
