NSU groundbreaking set May 2 for housing

Northeastern State University will break ground on the new student housing project at 2 p.m. May 2 at 710 N. Lewis Ave.

Earlier this month, the Regional University System of Oklahoma Board approved $15 million in funding through the Oklahoma State Regents of Higher Education’s Real Property Master Lease Program.

The new four-story residence hall will have a semi-suite configuration and approximately 344 beds. The project also will include energy efficient HVAC and tankless hot water systems.

The approved funding includes renovations to Wyly and Leoser Halls that will include upgrades to the restrooms and HVAC systems.

The estimated completion date for this project is the fall of 2015.
