Armed robbery trial moved back to May

Joel Phillip Banks, 28, was scheduled to stand trial in Muskogee County District Court on Monday, but court proceedings have been rescheduled, records state.

Banks is charged with one count of robbery with a weapon for allegedly taking more than $400 from a Kum & Go employee.

He is accused of using a .38-caliber pistol to intimidate the employee and robbing him of $407 that belonged to Kum & Go., court documents state.

A 1:30 p.m. March 25 competency hearing is scheduled for Banks, and his case is scheduled for a May 2 disposition docket, court documents state.

Charges were filed against Banks in April.
