Assault, kidnap charges dropped

Charges were dismissed against a Muskogee man accused of assaulting and locking his girlfriend in a car trunk Monday.

Kelvin Lee Riggins, 24, was facing kidnapping and domestic assault charges in Muskogee County District Court.

During a preliminary hearing Monday the girlfriend testified that she had made up the story, said Assistant District Attorney Dan Medlock.

A motion was made dismissal and was upheld by Special Judge Robin Adair.

Medlock said the state could file charges against the girlfriend for allegedly filing a false police report.
