Police investigate blood mystery

Muskogee police are investigating several sightings of blood at the library, a church and on a city street Friday morning.

Cpl. Michael Mahan said someone called at about 8 a.m. saying what appeared to be blood was on the sidewalk on the north side of the Muskogee Public Library, 801 W. Okmulgee St.

While officers investigated, a caller at the First Baptist Church, 111 S. Seventh St., said blood was seen there at 10:55 a.m., Mahan said.

Officers found more blood at the intersection of Seventh and Columbus Avenue at about the same time.

Investigators took samples of the blood and sent it of to the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation for analysis, Mahan said.

No reports of injuries were reported in that area Thursday night or Friday morning. No arrests or suspects have been named.

Anyone with information should call the police, Mahan said.
