Police investigate alleged molestation

Police are investigating an alleged sexual assault on a Muskogee 2-year-old at a home Monday.

Officers were called to EASTAR Health System at about 7 p.m. by employees who said a 2-year-old girl there had allegedly been molested.

The names of the child and suspect were not released.

Cpl. Michael Mahan said at about 4 p.m. the mother and an acquaintance went to a home on the 2600 block of Arline Street to pick up the child from a baby sitter.

The baby sitter allegedly witnessed the male acquaintance commit a lewd act to the child in another room while the mother was in another part of the house, Mahan said.

The family later became concerned for the child’s welfare and took her to the emergency room. Mahan said the Oklahoma Department of Human Services was also contacted.

No arrests have been made.
