A Haskell couple was charged Friday with three counts of child neglect as well as drug-related charges.
Kimberly Sowers, 24, and Carl L. Sowers, 28, were arrested Wednesday after a Muskogee County sheriff’s deputy received a call of children living in a dangerous environment.
Kimberly Sowers was released from the Muskogee County/City Detention Facility on $50,000 bond. Carl Sowers remains jailed in lieu of $50,000 bond. Both were ordered to return to Muskogee County District Court on Oct. 18 for a sounding docket. At that time a date will be set for a preliminary hearing.
Both are charged with three counts of child neglect and manufacturing methamphetamine. Kimberly Sowers also is charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.
Three children, ages 1, 2 and 4, were in the home and were taken by the Department of Human Services for medical exams, a deputy said.
