U.S. Sen. Jim Inhofe said he is “feeling great” and “fully engaged” with his work while recovering from a quadruple bypass surgery.
Inhofe said he discovered he had serious heart problems last week during a routine doctor’s visit. He underwent the bypass surgery Friday in Tulsa.
“The discovery shocked me as I had no visible symptoms that something was wrong,” Inhofe said Tuesday in a media release. “Today I am feeling great and am fully engaged with my work here in Oklahoma.”
Inhofe encouraged his “colleagues in Washington to work with vigilance to reopen the government with a bill that represents Oklahomans and all of Americans.”
Inhofe said he may miss some votes regarding a continuing budget resolution, but he anticipates he will return to Washington “soon and even stronger to continue the fight to protect Oklahomans’ freedoms.”
