Neighbor talks about suspect in toddler's slaying

Deanna Gilbert, a neighbor of the Lane family whose 4-year-old was stabbed to death Tuesday evening, talks about the man suspected of stabbing the child.

The 18-year-old arrested on a murder complaint, Aaron Michael Laconsello, lived on one side of Gilbert and the Lane family on the other.

Gilbert said the Lane family is a loving, close family who often barbecued, went hunting together, and whose extended family frequently visited.

Gilbert noticed Laconsello living next door around Halloween, she said.

Gilbert’s teenage children said Laconsello was sitting on his back porch drinking beer and looking at them through their bedroom window Tuesday before he allegedly entered the Lane home and stabbed Dakota Lane 36 times.
