A man arrested earlier this year in a large crystal methamphetamine bust pleaded guilty Tuesday in federal court.
Michael Salas, 24, of Morelia, Mexico, pleaded guilty to possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma on Monday, according to a media release.
The indictment against Salas alleged he possessed 500 grams or more of methamphetamine when he was arrested in August on Interstate 40 near Webbers Falls.
Muskogee County Sheriff Charles Pearson said the drugs pulled from Salas’ vehicle were valued at about $1 million to $1.2 million. The release states authorities seized approximately 8.5 kilograms of pure methamphetamine in the bust.
Deputy Jeff Gragg said the methamphetamines were found in several large suitcases in the back of the vehicle.
