Muskogee police are seeking information after Eastar Health System employees reported treating a man with a gunshot would to his left hand.
Muskogee Police Department Lt. Bobby Lee said Antony Mahee, 22, was driven to the hospital late Tuesday by his girlfriend. The girlfriend told police she’d found Mahee in the parking lot of the Roundhouse Bar, suffering from a gunshot wound.
“The victim said he was at the Roundhouse Bar playing pool for money,” Lee said. “He won, so him and the suspect went out to the suspect’s vehicle to get the money.”
Lee said Mahee told investigators the suspect reached into the glove compartment and pulled out a gun.
“Mahee said he tried to grab the gun, and it went off and struck him in the hand,” Lee said.
No suspect has been identified, though Mahee told police the man was driving a four-door Pontiac car with a sunroof. The suspect was described as a white male with blonde hair, wearing a ball cap with a four-leaf clover. Lee said the report didn’t indicate an age range for the suspect.
“Everyone officers tried to talk to at the scene knew nothing and was highly intoxicated,” Lee said.
Lee said officers were dispatched to Eastar Health System at 11:48 p.m.
“We believe it probably happened between 11 and 11:45 p.m.,” Lee said. “But we don’t know how much time passed between when he was shot and when his girlfriend found him.”
Lee said anyone with information about the shooting can call the Muskogee Police Department, (918) 683-8000, or Crime Stoppers at (918) 682-2677 to leave an anonymous tip.
