A Muskogee woman pleaded guilty Friday in federal court to uttering a counterfeit instrument, a media release from the United States Attorney’s Office states.
Rachel Ann Sanchez aka Rachel Ann Sims, 26, was indicted in December. The charge arose from an investigation by the Seminole Police Department and the Secret Service, the release states.
The indictment alleged that Sanchez tried to pass phony $100 bills on or about Nov. 23 in Seminole County. The bills were altered $5 bills.
Sanchez will be sentenced following the completion of a presentence report.
The statutory range of punishment is up to 20 years in prison and/or up to a $250,000 fine.
