Heath Wright, lead singer of Ricochet — famous for their 1996 country smash “Daddy’s Money” — will be a featured guest artist at 7:30 p.m. tonight and Saturday at Downtown Country’s “The Green Country Opry” in Wagoner.
Additional guest artists this week include Paul Amstutz, Carrigan Bradley and Haddison Bradley of Fort Gibson, Alyson (Howell) Madewell of Muskogee, and Kristin Nicole Moody.
Downtown Country will be presenting “The Green Country Opry” and “Forever Country!” at the Wagoner Civic Center, at 301 South Grant in Wagoner.
“The Green Country Opry” is a laid-back, hometown Opry-style show that features contemporary country, classic country, and gospel music, with a different lineup each night, according to a media release. It will showcase many special guest artists from the area. “Forever Country!” offers the fast-paced, Branson-style singing, dancing, and comedy that has made Downtown Country a regional entertainment spot for nearly 12 years.
Shows are Friday and Saturdays through Oct. 13. Tickets may be purchased in advance by calling the Downtown Country Box Office at (774) 327-3287, by visiting the Downtown Country website at www.downtowncountry.com, or may be purchased at the door, based on availability.
Under the direction of Kelli Doolen Farmer since 2000, Downtown Country has showcased some of the many talented singers and musicians that the state of Oklahoma has to offer— including the 2005 American Idol winner, Carrie Underwood.
