Doyle Hamm, 83, of Stigler, Oklahoma, formerly of Keota, Oklahoma passed away May 1, 2008 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He was born November 8, 1924 in Keota to E. B. and Estella (Tolbert) Hamm.
Doyle is survived by his wife Thalia Hamm of the home, one son: Don Hamm and wife, Connie, of Keota, Oklahoma. One sister: Jewell Herren and husband, George, of Keota, Oklahoma. Two granddaughters: Michelle and Renee Doyle was predeceased by one sister, Hester, and three brothers, Leonard, Arlis, and Hubert. He served in the United States Army under the command of General George Patton, fighting through France, Belgium, and Holland, before being taken prisoner along with six other comrades. He was the only one who survived out of the seven who were captured. Doyle worked as a home builder and rancher before his retirement. He once served as Commander of EX-POW organization in Muskogee.
Funeral Service will be 2 pm Monday, May 5, 2008 at First Baptist Church, Keota with Rev. John Pruett and Rev. Keith Stevens officiating. Burial will follow in Old Bokoshe Cemetery under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home & Crematory.
Viewing will be at Mallory Chapel, Keota 1 pm to 5 pm on Sunday. Military rites conducted by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4446 Stigler, OK.
Pallbearers will be Lewis Hamm, James Crow, Charles Hardt, Jeff Hardt, Steve Hardt and Greg Hardt.
