Carmen R. King, of Checotah, passed from this life early Monday morning, May 5, 2008 at the age of 61 after living full life. Carmen was born in Muskogee on November 12, 1946, to Mack and Letha King. He attended school at Central High and Checotah Public Schools. After graduation from Checotah High School he went on to attend and graduated from Connors State College. He worked for Texas Instruments retiring after 20 years of employment and for the past 18 years, was employed by the Walmart Supercenter in Muskogee.
Carmen was preceded in death by his parents. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife Ruth of the home; one daughter, D’aun King and husband Charles Lawrence, of Hulbert; 2 step-sons, Troy Hicks and Ronnie Hicks of Muskogee; his grandchildren Christian and Brit’ny King of Tahlequah; Cody Hicks and Ronnie Hicks of Muskogee; Cassie Hicks and Cara Hicks of Broken Arrow; 2 great granddaughters, Alyzabeth King and Trinity Hicks, one brother Ovid King and wife June of Checotah; one sister, Martha Pannell of Muskogee and a host of other friends and relatives.
Funeral services for Carmen R. King will be held on Friday, May 9, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Freewill Baptist Church, Checotah, with Rev. Nathan Lamirand officiating. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery.
