Henry F. Cook, 69, of Muskogee, died Saturday, May 10, 2008 at OSU Medical Center in Tulsa. He was born October 16, 1938 in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas. Henry was raised by his grandparents in Walnut Ridge where he was educated. At the age of 13 his grandparents passed away and he was left on his own. Henry was a hard worker and traveled across the country for work. He was willing and capable of any kind of labor. He worked in the cotton fields, drove a truck and worked in a saw mill.
In the late 1960’s Henry settled in St. Louis, Missouri. He met Patricia Talley and the couple was married on September 3, 1969. They lived in St. Louis for six years and Henry worked as a custodian for the school system. In 1975 they moved to Donophain, Missouri and settled on a farm. Henry worked in water well drilling to supplement the farm income and he and Pat raised their girls to work on the farm. In 1982 Mr. Cook took a position with UNARCO in Wagoner. He and Pat settled in Muskogee and he worked with UNARCO until his retirement in 2006.
Mr. Cook was a great family man, a hard worker and a friend to all he met. He liked to fish and loved tinkering with his automobiles.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia L. Cook of the home; four daughters, Cheryl Kingery of Muskogee, Lisa Lawrence of Lake City, Arkansas, Tammie Perkins and husband, Jeff of Muskogee, Mary Maiorino and husband, Vinnie of Muskogee; thirteen grandchildren; three great grandchildren; one sister, Ellen and other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services will be 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 13, 2008 at Fosters’ Ivory Chapel with Rev. Roger Pratt officiating.
Funeral service arrangements are under the direction of Foster-Petering Funeral Home.
