Wanda Horner Brewer, 86, of Muskogee died Saturday night, May 10, 2008 in Muskogee. She was born January 22, 1922, in
Braggs to Demus and Anna (Easterling) Horner.
Wanda moved to Muskogee during her elementary school years and continued her education at Central High School. In 1942 Wanda was married to Luther Leon Lowe. He was in the Army and she moved with him during World War II. During the mid 1940’s Wanda lived for several years in Oklahoma City before returning to Muskogee to raise her family. Wanda worked for several years during the 1980’s as a property manager at Greenleaf Apartments. In 1989 she was married to John Ernest Brewer and the couple made their home in Heber Springs, Arkansas. After her husbands death she returned to Muskogee.
Wanda was baptized at the age of 12 at Stem Beach Lake, which is now Honor Heights Lake. She grew up in the Baptist Church and was most currently a member of First Baptist Church of Heber Springs. She also loved attending gospel concerts and was always energetic to dance to the music.
Mrs. Brewer was preceded in death by her husbands, Luther Leon Lowe and John Ernest Brewer; daughter, Linda K. McCormick and son, Luther Leon Lowe, Jr.
She is survived by her brother, Bill Horner and his wife, Peggy of Muskogee; six grandchildren, Dicky, Denise, Debbie, Kendall, Theresa and Angela; numerous great grandchildren; two nieces, Linda and Sharon and three nephews, Rick, Gary and Johnny.
Funeral Services will be 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, May 14, 2008 at First Baptist Church Chapel. Interment will be in Greenhill Cemetery.
Funeral service arrangements are under the direction of Foster-Petering Funeral Home.
