Delma “Evert” Woods

— Delma “Evert” Woods, age 79, of Muskogee, OK area resident was born June 25, 1929 to Walter David Woods and Rachel (Blakley) Woods at Tushka, OK. He passed away Friday June 19, 2009 at the Muskogee Veterans Hospital in Muskogee, OK.
Evert attended school at Tushka and Atoka where he graduated. After school he was in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany. He married Louise Gentry on May 2, 1951 at Sherman, TX. They were happily married for over 58 years. Evert worked as a truck driver, a bus driver for the Muskogee School Systems for 10 years, and was a salesman for Eastern Sales for many years.
Evert was a member of the Church of Christ. He loved to watch baseball and he loved animals, especially dogs.
He is survived by his wife, Louise Woods of the home in Muskogee, daughter, Judy Davis and husband Troy of Muskogee, 2 sisters, Iona Weaver of Sapulpa, OK, Pat Redfern and husband, Leon of Peggs, OK. Along with other relatives and many dear and loved friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Rachel Woods, 2 sisters, Hazel Barton and Betty Woods, 2 brothers, Robert and Billy Woods.
Services were held Monday June 22, 2009 at 11 a.m., graveside at Green Meadows with Bro. Arvel Hall officiating.
