Jerry Fuller
1938 – 2009

Jerry L. Fuller died October 31, 2009. He leaves behind a loving family: Mary, his wife of 53 years, children, Mary and David Cole of Muskogee; Brad and Naomi Fuller of Winnipeg, Canada; Cathy Fuller of Muskogee; and Jerry DeWayne Fuller of Tulsa. He is survived by five grandchildren, David and Hannah Cole; Jessie, Adian and Cassidy Fuller and three great-grandchildren, Kayden Cole and Madison and Jacob Linn; his uncle, Lloyd Fuller and his wife, Mary of Webber Falls and his loving brother, Larry Fuller and his wife, Carol of Sallisaw. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Jerry was a loving and serving member of the United Church of God for 47 years and helped transport those in need to and from church services. He and his wife set up and ran their Church’s food pantry in the 1980s and 90s. He will be greatly missed by all in the Tulsa and Fort Smith congregations.

Jerry was a member of the United States Air Force stationed in Miles City, MT and then in Colorado Springs, CO until his discharge. He then worked in the floral business for 35 years before his retirement. He was the wholesale manager at Bebb’s Flowers for five years and a floral designer at Lakeland Florist for 30 years. He served the public with original designs and always went out of his way to make sure his customers left with the design they wanted.

Jerry also served as a volunteer weather spotter for the Muskogee City Civil Defense for 28 years, with 24 of those years as the volunteer Deputy Director.

Jerry had a very dry sense of humor and always tried to keep you guessing. Even as a youngster, one of his favorite past-times was tying his brother Larry to a tree with the help of his best friend John Ross, then shooting flaming arrows at him.

Jerry’s life was a wonderful example of loving and serving that his family will always remember and try to carry on.

A funeral service for Jerry is scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Thursday, November 5, 2009 at the National Cemetery, Fort Gibson with Mark Welch officiating.

The family has entrusted Bradley Family Funeral Service of Muskogee with the arrangements.

Friends may send condolences to the family on the web page www.bradleyfuneralservice.com.
