Narcine Carmans
1927 - 2009

On Dec. 3, 1927, a beautiful baby girl was born to Samuel Dean and Asilee Johnson Dean in Muskogee, OK. She was the fourth of nine children born to this union.

Narcine grew up in Dean's Chapel Baptist Church and was known as a caring and loving person.  She met and married Jessie Ware and they had one son, Raymond. After Jessie's death, Narcine married Thomas Carmans.  Narcine and Thomas resided in Summit, OK until his death. She moved to Atlanta, GA to live with her son for several years, but missed family and friends in Oklahoma.  She returned to Muskogee and resided in Broadway Manor Healthcare Center until her death.

Narcine was well known for her excellent cooking skills.  She was a cook at Debois School in Summit, OK for many years. Some of her favorite dishes were yeast rolls, peach cobbler and hearty pots of beef stew. You would rarely see Narcine without a smile on her face as she loved to laugh and joke with people. Her other favorite past-times were arts and crafts, playing bingo, word find puzzles and watching old westerns on television.

On Sunday afternoon, Nov. 1, 2009, Narcine peacefully left this earth to be with her heavenly Father. She was preceded in death by her father, mother,  a brother, Claude and five sisters, Jean, Josephine, Claudette, Valeria and Beverly.

She will be missed by her loving son, Raymond Ware, daughter-in-law, Latyna and one grandson, Decovan of Atlanta, GA. She is also survived by her sister, Greta Dean Davis, Muskogee, OK; brother and sister-in-law, Fred and Walterine Dean, Tulsa, OK; aunt, Meta Haynes, Dallas, TX, a uncle, McKinley Johnson, Tulsa,OK; a special cousin, Juanita Davis, Muskogee, OK, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members and friends from across the country.

A special "Thank-You" to Narcine's friends and staff at Broadway Manor Healthcare Center, Muskogee Regional Medical Center ICU staff, Dr. Ray Brown, Dr. Lambert and Dr. Ong.

Home Going services for Narcine will be today, at 11 a.m. in Deans Chapel Baptist Church, the Rev. Don Dumas, officiating.  Interment will follow in Ft Gibson National Cemetery.

The family has been cared for by Granger-House of Winn Funeral Home. Online condolences and registry may be expressed at. www.houseofwinn.com
