Orville “Skinny” Jessie Jones

1930 - 2013

— Orville “Skinny” Jessie Jones was born on October 18,1930 in Eufaula, OK, the son of Frank and Ethel Jones, and was called home to Heaven on April 13, 2013 at the age of 82.

Orville was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Ethel Jones; brother, “Buck” George Jones; sisters, Rena Carter, Mattie Youngblood, Cecil Miller, Willie Beavers; and daughter, Nita Jones.

Orville worked as a foreman at Webbers Falls Ready Mix Cement Plant then transferred to Sallisaw, OK, where he worked for Arkhola for a total of 37 years in concrete, before retiring in 1994. He loved working  with concrete and doing carpentry, especially the building of houses and various other kinds of woodwork. He loved to fish...whether in his boat or sitting on the river bank. He had a keen sense of humor and enjoyed teasing and laughing with family and friends. Orville loved playing with his grandkids. His first love was the Lord whom he loved with all his heart.

On June 15, 1955 Orville married Dora Faye Qualls at Muskogee, OK. They would have soon celebrated 58 years together.

Survivors include his wife, Dora Jones of Warner; daughters, Debbie Mullins and husband, Jimmy Mullins, of Webbers Fall, Charlotte Yerby and husband, John, of Muskogee; son, Kyles Jones and wife, Amber of Braggs; grandchildren, Brandi Broyles and Mike Broyles, Amber Cato and Micah Cato, Tabitha Yerby, Charity Yerby, Mason Jones and Myles Jones; great-grandchildren, Autumn Cato, Haley Cato, and Cadyn Yerby; sisters, June Nichols of CA, Irene Menie of Webbers Falls, Hazel Boswell of Muskogee; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, April 18, 2013 at the First Assembly of God in Warner with Reverend Josh McElyea officiating. Pallbearers will be Jonathon Cole, Brandon Mitchell, Gerald Boswell, Johnny Menie, Mason Jones, and Euial Carter. Burial will be in Garden of Memories in Vian, OK, under the direction of  Millsap Funeral Service of Webbers Falls.
