Rayburn Rackley


Mr. Rackley, 75, of Charlotte, NC, passed away Monday, the 30th of December 2013 at his home.

He was born on Monday, the 11th of July 1938 in Boynton, OK, a son of the late Jarrett Vestal Rackley and Mary Pilkington Rackley.

A service to celebrate the life of Mr. Rackley will be held 1:00 PM, Friday, the 3rd of January 2014 at the funeral home in the Historic Morehead St. Chapel with The Reverend Dr. Mark Glenn, The Reverend Curtis Hickey and The Reverend Sam Forte officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn West Cemetery.

Mr. Rackley is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Jo Rackley of Charlotte, NC; daughter, Pam Cook and her husband, Kenny of Charlotte, NC; three grandchildren: Craig Rackley of Concord, NC; Ryan Cook and Jarrett Cook both of Charlotte, NC; one great grandson, Alan Rackley and two twin great granddaughters: Annabel and Adylyn Rackley; two brothers: J. V. Rackley of Sanford, NC and Dale Rackley of Muskogee, OK and a sister, Evelyn Riddle of Sanford, NC. He was preceded in death by a son, Alan Rackley in 1990.

In lieu of flowers the family respectfully requests memorials be made to Hospice and Palliative Care Charlotte Region, 1420 East Seventh St., Charlotte, NC 28204 or the Parkinson's Disease Foundation, 1359 Broadway, Suite 1509, New York, NY 10018.
