John Christopher “Chris” Madison, 41, of Muskogee, died Friday, January 3, 2014 in St. George, Utah. He was born January 4, 1972 to James and Patricia (Regis) Madison in El Paso, Texas. Chris was an “Army Brat” and moved with his family to many different places before settling in Ft. Gibson where he graduated from high school in 1990.
He joined the U.S. Army and was an Army Ranger in the 1st Battalion 75th Ranger Regiment. He served for six years and during Desert Storm parachuted into Kuwait as part of his service. He graduated from Northeastern State University. Then he went to work and followed his love of music.
Chris is survived by his parents, Jim and Pat Madison of Muskogee; brother and sister-in-law, Dr. James R. and Luka Madison of Tahlequah; nephew and nieces, Kekoa, Keahilei and Kanoa Madison; longtime girlfriend, Maye Lynn Kirk; special friends of Bill W.; aunts, uncles, cousins and many other family members in Ohio and Pennsylvania.
There will be a rosary at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, January 9, 2014 at Fosters’ Ivory Chapel. Funeral Mass will be 9:30 a.m. Friday at Fosters’ Ivory Chapel. Interment will follow in Ft. Gibson National Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Darryl Hoover, Will Bryant, Rob Griffin, Byron Lollis, Dwight Scott and Gary Barber. Honorary pallbearers are James Madison and Mike Shumaker.
