Minnie Ruth (Duncan) Field


Minnie Ruth (Duncan) Field passed away Wednesday, January 8, 2014, after a long illness. She was born on Tuesday, March 6, 1923, to Tom and Jessie Duncan of Checotah, Oklahoma. Her sister Oma Arteberry of Checotah and brother Tommy Duncan also of Checotah survive her. Minnie Ruth married Albert Bledsoe of Checotah in 1938. They had two daughters; Naomi Ruth (Lewis), deceased and Vicki Day, of Hutchinson, Kansas. Minnie Ruth was a resident of Tulsa, Oklahoma for over 40 years. She was a salesperson for Trippets, Sid Brouses's and Renbergs during that time. She is preceded in death by a daughter, Naomi Ruth (Lewis), a granddaughter, Abby Gael Day, a great-granddaughter, Lacie Anne Keyser, three sisters and four brothers. Minnie Ruth leaves behind six grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren who have been blessed with the heritage of a love for God and His Word.  Services celebrating Minnie Ruth's life will be held 11 AM Saturday, January 11, 2014 in the Serenity Chapel of Garrett Family Funeral Home with Reverend Rick LaBounty and Reverend Mitchell Arteberry, officiating. Committal Prayers and Interment will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery under the personal direction of John Garrett.
