Jimmie Dwane Pruitt

1947 - 2012

— Jimmie Dwane Pruitt 65, of Oktaha, Oklahoma passed away Tuesday October 23, 2012 after a short bout with cancer. He was born March 23, 1947 in Tulare, California to Opal Craighead Pruitt and Ivey Pruitt. After graduating from Vian High School he joined the United States Air Force where he had 23 years of distinguished service. He met and married Buna E. Hopkins May 16, 1971. He went on to have one son Robert Ivey Pruitt of Vilonia, Arkansas and one daughter Christina Alane Pruitt Juengst of Oktaha, Oklahoma. After retirement from the Air Force he began a new career as a motor transportation operator which he continued for 19 years before fully retiring.

Jimmie was one of 11 children of which he is survived by 4 brothers Troy Pruitt, Donald Pruitt, George Pruitt and Loyedale Pruitt, 3 sisters Lois Bervel, Pearl McDonald and Dorthy Davis as well as his wife Buna Pruitt, son Robert and wife Adrianne Pruitt, daughter Christina and husband Kevin Juengst and 3 granddaughters Daisha Miles, Breanna Juengst and JuliAnna Juengst.

Graveside services will be held Monday October 29, 2012 at Blackgum Box Community Cemetery at 11 A.M. Pastor D. Van Washington of Oktaha Trinity Baptist Church. Viewing at Foster - Petering Funeral Home in Muskogee, Oklahoma on Saturday October 27, 2012 from 10 A.M. - 5 P.M. and Sunday October 28, 2012 from 1 P.M. - 8 P.M
