Betty June Eller

1924 - 2013

— Betty June Eller went to her heavenly home, Saturday, March 23, 2013. Betty was born the third child of Floyd and Lucille Jobe on July 21, 1924.

Betty grew up in Muskogee and graduated from Central High School in 1942. After graduation she began a career for Metropolitan Life Insurance that spanned 47 years.

Betty moved to California, where she met Calvin Eller, who was an agent with Met Life, and they were married in Long Beach, California on November 3, 1956. Cal and Betty later moved to Indianapolis, Indiana, and then back to Oklahoma. They loved living on Fort Gibson Lake, because both were avid fishermen.

Betty was a volunteer with the American Red Cross blood drives and disaster teams.  She served as President of the Auxiliary of Muskogee Regional Medical Center. She gave thousands of hours of service to the hospital and to RSVP of Muskogee. Betty was recognized as volunteer of the year by  “Best of Muskogee”.

Betty was a member of Boulevard Christian Church for over 70 years and was a faithful servant of her Savior Jesus Christ.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband Cal Eller, parents Floyd and Lucille Jobe, her brother Jack, who was killed in WWII and awarded the Bronze Star and Purple Heart, and her sister Kelelah Barnett. Survivors include niece Patty Hackelton, nephew Pete Wilbur and six great nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, Betty asked that donations be given to the Cal Eller Memorial at Boulevard Christian Church.

Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at Boulevard Christian Church with Mr. James McCracken officiating.
