J. A. Geurin


J. A. Geurin was born September 4, 1930 in Wagoner, Oklahoma to Burnett and Ethel (Lancaster) Geurin.  He passed away Monday morning, September 9, 2013 in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 83 years.

J. A. married Jan Tomlinson February 9, 1973 in Muskogee, Oklahoma.  He was co-owner and operator of Cook Lumber in Muskogee and enjoyed gardening and travelling.  He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Bixby, the Bedouin Shrine in Muskogee and the Scottish Rite in Tulsa.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, H. B. Geurin and sisters, Myrtle See, Mable Cannon, Marie Leak and Lillie Coventon.

J. A. is survived by his wife, Jan, of the home in Broken Arrow; his children, Jim B. Geurin and wife Nedean of Broken Arrow, Debbie Hughes and husband Jim of Collinsville, Craig Geurin and wife Tamara of Round Rock, Texas, Jim Webster and wife Terry of Broken Arrow and Judy Webster Jackson and Greg of Highland Village, Texas; his grandchildren, Sara Say, April Zumwalt, Quentin Van Deusen, Grant, Case and Drake Jackson, and Christine, Tyler and Garrett Taverner; great grandchildren, Elizabeth and Katherine Say, Lilly Zumwalt and Tomas and Joserina Reynoso; one brother, Ron Geurin of Oklahoma City; sisters, Mary Lee Reich and Myrna Camp both of Broken Arrow and many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

The family will greet friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Wednesday, September 11, 2013 in the Hersman-Nichols Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM, Thursday, September 12, 2013 in the Hersman-Nichols Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Dan Pulver officiating.  Interment will follow in Elmwood Cemetery under the direction of Hersman-Nichols Funeral Home.

The family request memorial donations to the First United Methodist Church in Bixby or to the charity of your choice.
