Michael Eugene Dobbs

1951- 2013

Michael Eugene Dobbs, 62, of Fort Gibson, Oklahoma passed away Tuesday, November 19, 2013. He was born September 12, 1951 to Wilbur Dobbs and Jeanette Clifton Dobbs in Childersburg, AL. Michael spent his younger years in Chicago, IL, Yuma, AZ, and Lincoln, AR.  He joined the Army at the age of 17 and toured in Germany and Vietnam. Michael married his wife, Stacey Verity on December 30, 1977 in Lincoln, AR.  In 1990, Michael and his family made their home in Fort Gibson.

Michael loved his family. He was a great husband, father, and PaPa. He loved camping, barbecuing, swimming, fishing, and snagging for spoonbill at Fort Gibson Dam.

Michael was a 30 year employee of Acme Engineering in Muskogee.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Michael is survived by his wife Stacey, of the home; daughters, Susanna Young and husband Brian of Greenland, AR, Julie Hayes and husband Willie of Muskogee, OK; Son, Michael Dobbs of the home; Grandchildren, Christopher, Cody, Anna, Skye, Bryanna, Emilie and Kenadee; Brothers, Gerald Dobbs of Muskogee, OK, Adam Dobbs and wife Paula of Phoenix, AZ, David Dobbs and wife Bonnie of Lincoln, AR, Barney Dobbs of Rogers, AR; Sister, Kathey Robershaw and husband Joe of Alicia, AR; and more including numerous nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends.

Michael has left us in this world but will never be forgotten. He is so greatly missed.

Graveside services will be Monday, November 25, 2013, at 10:00 a.m. at Fort Gibson National Cemetery with Pastor Mark Young officiating. Memorial service will follow at Cornerstone Funeral Home Chapel at 12:00 p.m.
