Billy L. Reeves of Muskogee, Oklahoma, passed this life on January 30, 2014 at the age of 77. He was born in Centreville, Mississippi on September 25, 1936 to Pearl (Forman) and Shepherd Reeves.
Billy served his country honorably a total of 24 years, with the U. S. Marine Corps for four years, where he served with the military police. Then he enlisted with the U. S. Air Force and worked as an aircraft and engine mechanic for over 21 years until his retirement. Billy married Adelaida (Layug) Reeves and she preceded him in death along with his parents.
Billy loved the West, he would take on odd jobs in various locations, just to be able to work with animals. He would take in stray animals to care for and would have animals of his own. He has two Donkeys named Amos and Andy and he fed the neighborhood birds every day and they would always look for him. Billy liked to help people, especially children. It brought him great joy to care for animals and children's needs. He has always made pledges for contributions to help with animals and children. He reached out with various organizations such as: Vietnam Wounded Warriors, International Fellowship of Christians and Jews, Feed The Children and ASPCA. He was a man with a big heart always ready to help out the needy.
He is survived by his daughters: Cora Collins and Mike Sagaser of Blue Springs, MO, Dana Jamison and husband Lynn of Muskogee, Laverne Pease and her husband Ray of Muskogee and P.J. Carr of Porter, TX; two sons: Joe Biggerstaff of Memphis, TN and James Biggerstaff of Kansas City, MO; one brother George Reeves, Jr. of Tylertown, MS; fifteen grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren, other family members and friends.
Services for Billy will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, February 3, 2014 at the Shipman Funeral Home Chapel in Wagoner with Chaplain Kirk officiating. Visitation will be from 1 to 5 p.m., Sunday at Shipman's in Wagoner, OK. Burial will follow in Higginsville, Missouri on Thursday at 1:00 P.M., February 6th at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery.
