1925 - 2014

Funeral services for Ruth Pauline Littlefield are 11:00 am, Monday, February 3, 2014, at First Baptist Church Tahlequah. Visitation will be Sunday evening February 2, 2014, from 4 - 6 PM at Green Country Funeral Home. Officiating will be Reverends Buddy Hunt and Ron Rice. Honorary pallbearers are Andrew Littlefield, Timothy Haskins, Jamie Justice, Robert Rasnic, Tom Cottrill, Glen Sizemore, Bill Davis and Ray Stearns. Interment will follow in the Tahlequah City Cemetery under the care of Green Country Funeral Home. Online condolences may be left at

Ruth Pauline Littlefield was born May 4, 1925, in Glenpool, Oklahoma to Anthony Rasnic and Sarah (Cornahan) Rasnic. She passed away at Go Ye Village in Tahlequah on January 31, 2014, at the age of 88.

Ruth was a graduate of Glenpool High School. She attended and graduated Northeastern State College with a Bachelor of Arts in Education. Ruth was a member of Alpha Sigma Alpha Sorority. She had taught elementary school and had worked for the Department of Human Services as a Social Worker. She married ValGene Littlefield in Tahlequah, Oklahoma on July 12, 1947.

Ruth enjoyed animals and loved cats. She loved painting, sewing, and spending time with her family and friends. Ruth was proud of her family and was a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother.

Ruth is preceded in death by her parents. Anthony and Sarah Rasnic; granddaughter, Jennifer Littlefield; three siblings, Myrtle Justice, Robert Rasnic, and Inez bellows.

She is survived by her husband, Doctor ValGene Littlefield of the home; two children, a daughter, Valarie Hannah and husband Jay, and son Mike Littlefield; three grandchildren, Natalie Haskins and husband Tim, Andrew Littlefield and wife Eileen, and Chase Littlefield; one great-granddaughter, Ruthie; as well as a host of friends and loved ones.

The family wishes to thank all our friends and family for their love and support. We also want to thank the many that contributed quality care to Ruth during her final days, Tahlequah City Hospital, Hope Hospice and Go Ye Village Med Center. In lieu of flowers the family ask that memorials be made in Ruth’s name to the First Baptist Church Building fund or the Go Ye Village Building fund.
