Larry Norman Pilkerton

1956 - 2013

Funeral services for Larry Norman Pilkerton, 56, of Tulsa will be at 11:00 a.m., Monday, July 1, 2013 at the Mallett Funeral Home Chapel in Wagoner, with the Reverend Bruce Von Wald officiating. A visitation will be held from 3-5 p.m. Sunday.

Larry Norman Pilkerton was born August 3, 1956 in Nashville, Tennessee to his parents, Walter Washington and Mary Juanita (Sizemore) Pilkerton, both of whom preceded him in death.

He grew up in the Memphis area, attending school there. At a young age Larry worked with deaf children as a lifeguard at summer camps and at the school for the deaf.  About 30 years ago he moved to Northeast Oklahoma and worked in Pryor, Wagoner, Muskogee and Tulsa.  Whether he worked in an auction house or as a lot porter for several automobile dealerships, the latest being Keystone Chevrolet, Larry always took great pride in every job.  He enjoyed western movies and loved Tennessee football, especially Peyton Manning.  He had a wonderful childlike spirit.  Larry loved spending time with Layla, his boxer dog, but his greatest source of joy and pride came from the love he shared with his daughter, Lindsay.

Larry passed away Monday, June 24 at his home in west Tulsa.

He is survived by his daughter, Lindsay Nicole Pilkerton of Wagoner; the mother of his daughter, Linda Michelle (Trueblood) Pilkerton, also of Wagoner; his siblings, Leigh and Al Walden of Tennessee, Ralph and Tammy Christianson of Tennessee; Tony Sr. and Cindy Pilkerton of Muskogee, OK and Mitzi and Joel Jerigans of Tennessee; numerous nieces and nephews; his mother-in-law, to whom he was a son, Mary Trueblood of Wagoner; other relatives and many friends.

Friends and family may send condolences and memories of Larry to www.mallettfuneralhome.com.

Final arrangements are directed by Mallett Funeral Home of Wagoner.
