Cleo Parker

1916 - 2013

— Cleo Parker, 96, of Muskogee, Oklahoma entered heaven’s gates on Friday, January 18, 2013. She was born October 11, 1916 in Bower, Oklahoma to Lorenzo Dow Bailey and Virginia Tennessee Freeman Bailey. Cleo met and later married Joe Burke Parker on May 26, 1934 in Eufaula, Oklahoma. She enjoyed quilting, baking, and working in her church.

Cleo was preceded in death by her husband, JB; her five brothers, John Bailey, Lowell Bailey, Benson Bailey, Ted Bailey, Ebb Bailey; and her two sisters, Hattie Shropshire and Jewel Bynum.

Cleo is survived by her son, Lowell Parker and his wife Faye of El Dorado, Kansas; three daughters, Barbara Powell and her husband Clyde of Muskogee, Janice Herbeck of Muskogee, and Suzie Nodine and her husband Ron of Bedford, Texas; one sister, Eula Willmon of Eufaula; eight grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.

The family would like to thank Rivercross Hospice for their wonderful care and a special thank you to Beverly Sample whom Cleo and family loved so much. She became a  member of our family.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at Elm Grove Assembly of God Church, 5510 Elm Grove Rd, Muskogee, OK, with Rev. Clyde Powell and Rev. Marcus Alexander officiating. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Eufaula, OK. with Lynn Hatfield, Hubert Shropshire, Rick Powell, Jerry Jones, Bruce Shropshire, and Virgil Sallee serving as pallbearers.

Funeral services are under the direction of Cornerstone Funeral Home and Crematory, 1830 North York Street, Muskogee, Oklahoma. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.cornerstoneofmuskogee.com
